Cleaning your sheet is quick and easy. We recommend washing on a standard cycle at temperatures up to 40 degrees. Please avoid using fabric softeners or bleach as these can damage the waterproof backing, but regular laundry detergent is perfectly fine. Your sheet is designed to stay fully waterproof for up to 300 washes when cared for this way.

We recommend using a gentle, everyday laundry detergent, you just need to make sure it doesn’t include bleach or fabric softener, as these can gradually damage the waterproof layer.

We know many children have sensitive skin and allergies so if you are washing this for a child with specific laundry needs, we recommend using the detergent you already know and trust. Every child is different, so please follow your usual washing routine where possible, just make sure it doesn’t include bleach or fabric softener. 

For the quickest results, tumble dry on a low heat setting. You can also air dry on a washing line on a warm sunny day. Please make sure the sheet feels fully dry before re-using, please note drying can sometimes take longer than standard clothes due to the 5 layers.

Before storing your Totsie sheets, make sure they are fully clean and completely dry. Fold them carefully and store in a cool, dry place such as a cupboard or drawer; away from any moisture and direct sunlight.

A lot of our customers buy 2 or more for spares. So if you do keep any extras at hand, a breathable bag or storage basket works well for easy access. Try not to store them long term in airtight plastic containers, as the fabrics benefit from a little air circulation to stay fresh.

If your sheet becomes stained, treat with a stain remover just as you would with any marks or stains on every day clothing. After treating the area, wash as normal. Avoid using bleach or any cleaning products that contain bleach, as these can damage the material.

Our toddler/single sheet fits both a toddler bed and a single bed so if your child has either size, this one will be perfect for you.

The Totsie sheet is designed to go over the top of the fitted sheet. Place the patterned side up in the centre of the mattress, with the wings tucking under each side of the mattress to ensure no movement, even for the wriggliest of sleepers. Your child can then sleep on top of our sheet allowing for easier bed changes in the night.

Totsie sheets are designed differently from full mattress protectors. Rather than covering the whole bed, they protect the area where it is needed most. The purpose of this is to make night time changes faster and easier whilst still shielding your mattress and fitted sheets from accidents.

Although our sheets are designed with potty training nights in mind, our customers use these for multiple other reasons too. As well as protecting children's beds from accidents and nappy leaks at night, they are also handy for protecting sofas and carpets during daytime potty training. Many parents also rely on these sheets for added protection when their child is sick.
